Imagine Your Life Improved
Visiting the Dentist is part of self care - but it is very easy to put off if you have dental anxiety.
Is online therapy for you?
Bullies at work or frenemy's in your social group, both can erode your self-esteem.
"I went to see Astrid during a very difficult time in my life. I am a person that always felt that I could deal with problems on my own but found everything was building up and getting too much for me. A friend suggested to go and see Astrid. Well......one of the best decisions I have made. Astrid was so easy to talk to and I felt very much at ease. Astrid helped me enormously and gave me insights and strategies which helped me deal with issues about my marriage break up and future relationships that I had been struggling with for a long time. It is so nice to know that Astrid is there anytime when I need an independent person to talk to rather than involving family or friends." Annie
Before you think about counselling please consider what it is you wish to change or how you would like to transform your life. Then make a commitment to yourself to see that change through.
Once you have done that send an email and I will contact you to arrange the best time for your initial consultation.
With the initial consultation we can get to know each other and I will ask you questions about your general health, lifestyle, relationships and working life.
After this we will spend a moment or two going over the issue which brought you to counselling, after which we can discuss any expectations you may have regarding length and cost of treatment.
Counselling is a collaborative process and together we can discuss and plan your sessions in accordance with your therapeutic goals.
It is often asked how long the counselling process takes, and you should be aware that counselling is rarely a one-session process. Counselling is effective when critical reflection takes place and it may take anywhere from a few sessions to months of treatment, depending on your life experiences. A general rule-of- thumb though, is to allow for about 5-10 sessions before therapeutic changes begin to unlock your unique self–healing resources which organically create positive change in your life.
While not always the case, counselling can be challenging as it can involve the identification and processing of painful emotions and memories. There will be times when you will feel uncomfortable, challenged or messy but you should know that that is all part of your healing process.
The opportunity to evaluate the effectiveness of your therapy is present throughout your treatment and adjustments to the delivery of services, can be made as needed.
